Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek Outing

On 12 June 2006, a group of PHW fishers, including SPC Robert Bartlett, USA; PFC Chris Hillesland, USA; SPC Jeremy Snider, USA; and 1LT Eivind Forseth, USA, headed to a local fishing hole, Beaver Creek, located near Hagerstown, Maryland. Our guide for day was Jay Sheppard, a noted fishing personality and expert fly fisherman. We also enjoyed the company of Robert’s finace, Jordan.

Beaver Creek is a spring-fed stream and holds trout year-round. On this particular day, the creek was holding them very well, and although nearly everyone caught some fish, and some very nice fish at that, the fish were not at their cooperative best. Nonetheless, it was a very enjoyable outing, on a very picturesque and pristine piece of water. We thank Jay, especially, for hosting us, as well as providing the on-stream intelligence that we needed.

The nice thing about Beaver Creek is that it is readily accessible (within an hour and a half ride from WRAMC) and well within striking distance of a future return engagement.
