Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc programs will be hosting simultaneous daylong events on Saturday, September 29, 2018 to raise funds and awareness of their cause and the injured and disabled veterans they serve.  The Santa Barbara, CA Program will be at Hook Line and Sinker from 10 am to 3 pm. They are located at 4010 Calle Real (#5), Santa Barbara, CA.

The local Project Healing Waters Program has been helping disabled veterans learn to fly fish for the past 4 years. We teach disabled veterans to cast a fly rod, tie flies, and catch fish. We fish off of the beaches here in Santa Barbara because we have no rivers or streams available. Once a year we go to the Sierra Nevada to fly fish in the rivers and streams. The money we raise on Saturday September 29th will help support our local programs. Hook Line and Sinker has graciously offered to let us host a day of fundraising as well as educating the community about our program. We are selling tickets to win an Orvis Clearwater 5 wt. Fly Rod @ $5.00 / ticket or 6 tickets for $20.00. Please come by and say hello. Hook Line and Sinker, 4010 Calle Real (#5). Santa Barbara, CA.

Healing Saturday,” will take place at local fly shops and retailers across the country in cooperation with the local volunteer-run PHWFF programs.  Through offering special opportunities like entertainment, food, and all-things fly fishing Healing Saturday will aid in supporting disabled veterans on their healing journey.

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF) is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans.  PHWFF is unique in that volunteers teach classes on an on-going, long term basis. Program activities include fly fishing instruction, fly tying classes, fly casting workshops, rod building and fly fishing outings. In 2017, PHWFF Programs served over 8,400 disabled veterans at over 200+ locations nationwide.

Please come on by and support your local tackle shop this September 29th and give back to those men and women who have made great sacrifices in the service of our nation.
