Abraham “Bobby” Jacinto has been involved with Project Healing Waters since 2011. He started as a volunteer in the first PHWFF program in NJ. He introduced the Program to his TU Chapter and started recruiting volunteers for future events. In 2013, As President of his TU chapter, he initiated the 2nd program in the NJ region (Northwestern PHWFF), which operated out of Picatinny Arsenal in Jefferson, NJ. The program expanded to the East Orange VA facility and then to Veterans Havens North in Glenn Gardner, NJ.
As PHWFF Program Lead, he coordinated Fly Tying, Fly Rod Building, Fishing Outings, and Educational events. The program recruited participants and volunteers from the North West area of NJ and also participates in joint events with other PHWFF Programs.
In 2018, Bobby was elevated as Regional Coordinator for the NJ Region after William “Bill” Hayes stepped down. The NJ Region currently consists of 5 Programs and has prospect for 1 more.
Bobby is an avid Fly Fisherman chasing multiple species on a fly rod. His passion and knowledge of the sport led him to spread Fly Fishing to children, retirees, and disabled Veterans. He also enjoys volunteering for Bread Of Life, Soup Kitchens, and various church charities. He was also President and Head Coach of the local youth wrestling club and led the club to multiple County Championships and individual wrestlers in State Championships. He also serves as a Church Trustee, Board Member of Fred S. Burroughs TU, Board Member of Fredon Wrestling Club, Worshipful Master of Harmony Lodge #8, Board Member of FILAMNJ Golf Club, and Webmaster of Sussex County Beekeeping Association.
Bobby received his BS in Computer Science and MS in Healthcare Management. He has 1 Wife, 2 daughters, 1 Son, 1 Grandson, 1 Son In Law, 1 future Son in Law, and 1 future Daughter in Law. Other than Fly Fishing, his other passions are Golf, Chess, Free Masonry, Wood Working, Bee Keeping, and being the best Husband, Father, and Grand Father.
