Jim has a passion for fly fishing and has been actively engaged in all aspects of the sport for over 45 years. He especially enjoys sharing his knowledge and skills
with those who are just getting started in the adventure.
Jim recently retired after a 38-year career in Finance. Prior to retirement he was a manager in the Controller organization of a major US Aerospace company where he had a proven track record of outstanding leadership skills and exemplary performance. He is knowledgeable and highly experienced in financial planning and analysis, accounting, strategic planning, project management,
problem solving and managing people. Jim received his BA in Business Administration from Seattle University (Seattle, WA), where he majored in Finance and Economics.
Jim has been very active in his local community and has provided leadership and support to many non-profit organizations including: Communities in Schools, Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital, United Way of Pierce County, the YMCA and the City of Lakewood.
Jim has a long history of supporting fly fishing organizations. He is a life member of Fly Fishers International (FFI) and is currently serving on their Board of Directors as their Treasurer. Jim was honored to receive the FFI’s Fly Fisher of the Year award in 2017. He has a zeal for fly tying and has been teaching and demonstrating fly tying for over 20 years. Jim is also a long time member of the Puget Sound Flyfishers club in Tacoma, WA and the South Sound Fly Fishing club in Olympia, WA.
Jim’s other interests and activities include his family, traveling, golfing, photography, and radio controlled aircraft. Jim, and his wife Laurie, live in Lakewood, WA (near Joint Base Lewis-McChord).
