As the Grants Director for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc., Mackenzie’s main responsibilities include grant writing, grant administration, and grant management, both on the national and program level.
Mackenzie graduated in 2017 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received her B.A. in Media and Journalism specializing in Public Relations and minored in English. Throughout her four years in college, Mackenzie gained valuable work experience in the political, healthcare and nonprofit sectors, where she got on the ground and learned how each specific sector operated.
Mackenzie is the daughter of a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and she grew up in the military lifestyle. Moving every two years she experienced new places, people and cultures both here in the United States and overseas. She is excited to be working for PHWFF and for the opportunity to create a positive impact in the lives of active military service members, veterans and their families.
Mackenzie currently lives in Washington DC. In her spare time, she loves hiking, reading
and watching Carolina basketball.
