The Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Program in Newington, CT has partnered with Pratt & Whitney’s “UTC-4-Vets” employee resource group to further aide in the recovery and rehabilitation of injured and disabled veterans in Connecticut.
“UTC-4-Vets is an Employee Resource Group comprised of veterans and non-veteran members, but as a veteran there is nothing more rewarding than helping organizations that provide assistance, care and support to those who have served” said Nelson Acosta of the Pratt & Whitney UTC-4-Vets organization (http://ow.ly/NdpD304qTTq). This has evolved to encompass a collaborative effort between PHWFF and ‘UTC-4 Vets,’ and has brought PHWFFs unique form of therapy to countless injured and disabled veterans in-need of it in the state of Connecticut.
The group also recently held The 1st Annual UTC-4-VETS Golf Tournament in support of PHWFF at The Lyman Orchard Golf Club on June 25, 2016. This remarkable day brought together veterans, supporters, Pratt & Whitney employees, UTC-4 Vets members and PHWFF leadership for a memorable and enjoyable day supporting the veterans served by PHWFF. Over $15,000 dollars was raised to continue supporting disabled veterans on their journeys to recovery through the PHWFF Program.
Established in 2014, the United Technologies Coalition for Veterans (UTC-4-Vets), an employee resource group at Pratt & Whitney, strives to offer employee veterans and their families the tools and resources needed to excel in the workplace.
