We are pleased to announce that due to tremendous growth, our Mid-South Region has been re-organized to better serve the areas injured and disabled veterans. Originally encompassing North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina the re-organization will see the Mid-South Region split into 2 specific regions: North Carolina and Georgia/South Carolina. Accompanying these new regions will be two great volunteers who have been elevated to the roles of Regional Coordinator. The programs within will continue the incredible work they’re doing providing the veterans of the south with our unique kind of therapy.Ryan Harman, long serving Regional Coordinator for the Mid-South, will stay on as Regional Coordinator for North Carolina. We are pleased to welcome long-time volunteer Curtis Boatman as the new Regional Coordinator for the GA/SC Region. The re-organization will serve to allow our volunteers to better manage Program growth and field operations while continuing the incredible work they do.

Ryan Harman is a Financial Advisor and Limited Partner with Edward Jones Investment Co. Ryan’s Hendersonville North Carolina office works with individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations to develop wealth management, estate and charitable gifting strategies.
Ryan began his involvement with PHWFF in 2007 as a volunteer and Program Lead for the Asheville NC Program and later assumed the Coordinator’s role for the Mid-South Region. Working with the numerous VA facilities and Military Bases in NC,SC, and GA Ryan has been able to see firsthand the profound effect that Project Healing Waters activities have made in the lives of so many of this country’s military heroes.
Curtis Boatman

J. Curtis Boatman began volunteering with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) with the Fort Belvoir Program under Program Lead Dr. Mike Cherwick in 2008. His early responsibilities included cleaning sites following program outings and cooking for those in attendance. His role quickly expanded to encompass guiding and classroom instruction. Among Curt’s many contributions to PHWFF are his roles as a founding volunteer for the Annual Harmans Cabins weekend trip, the Panama City Beach, FL trip, and the annual trip to West Virginia. In addition to his new role as Regional Coordinator, Curt also serves as the Program Lead for the Atlanta, GA Program.
Since receiving a BS in Aeronautical Studies with a minor in Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1991, Curt has been employed in the airline industry. He is currently flying for American Airlines as an Airbus 330 First Officer based out of Charlotte, NC. His tremendous work with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing was recognized at the 2015 AirPower Foundation Dinner where the “Citizen Hero Award” was bestowed upon him.
He currently resides on the Northside of Atlanta, GA with his wife Lynn and his two step-children Kayla and Parker.
