The 8th Annual Battle at Boxwood (VIDEO)
The 8th Annual Battle at Boxwood took place on Saturday July 21, 2018 at Boxwood Gulch Ranch in Shawnee, Colorado. It was a truly special day and we’re deeply honored by all those whose great contributions made this another incredible year for the disabled veterans we serve. THANK YOU!
We are pleased to share a great short video with you from Altitude Sports which beautifully captures the essence of The Battle at Boxwood, our cause and the disabled veterans who benefit from our programs. The Battle at Boxwood was founded by Steve Payne, a business executive and retired NHL player, who spent 10 years with the Minnesota North Stars (now the Dallas Stars). In his own words, “Supporting our military is very important to me, so I spend a lot of time doing so. With help from some generous, caring friends, I created the Battle at Boxwood event now in it’s seventh year. The event supports the wonderful organization, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF), by raising money and getting recovering wounded warriors on the water for a day of trout fishing with sports celebrities from the NHL, NFL and MLB.”
