Here’s an awesome surprise! Our friends at The New Fly Fisher just released a very special episode from 2012 featuring the Project Healing Waters-Syracuse, NY Program and the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing – Fort Drum Program fishing for steelhead in upstate New York.
Filmed on New York’s famed Salmon River, the episode finds hosts Mark Melnyck and Bill Spicer joining guides and fly shop owners to take disabled veterans fly fishing as part of an annual Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing event. Mark also learns about the history of the stocking program on the Salmon River with Fran Verdoliva of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
