Our good friends at VEDAVOO are once again doing tremendous work in support of our cause and the veterans we serve. We are pleased to announce the return of the ever-popular Reel Service Project.  This special initiative brings American-made VEDAVOO packs and gear together with talented sporting artists to create one-of-a-kind functional art for the discerning angler.  Thanks to the great generosity of VEDAVOO, all proceeds from the Reel Service Project will go to our cause and the thousands of injured and disabled veterans we serve each year.

The REEL SERVICE PROJECT was initiated in 2013 to help raise funds for Veteran focused causes in the Fly Fishing community. That initial effort, which included a series of VEDAVOO packs made out of fabric provided by Patrick over at Recycled Waders, and featuring original artwork by Jeff Currier, set the stage for events to follow.  The program continued successfully in 2014 and 2015 – pairing our work with original art from the industry’s best through a series of one-of-a-kind packs used to raise funds for worthy causes.

VEDAVOO LOGOFrom Scott Hunter, Founder of VEDAVOO:

This past weekend, I stood on our town green with a covered heart for the parade of flag bearing, uniformed veterans, representing generations of service from WWII to the latest conflict abroad.  Love it or hate it, there’s a real price paid for the lifestyle we love – and I count it a PRIVILEGE to honor those who assume their share of the bill with a firm handshake and a humble ‘Thank You’.

Now that those respects have been paid, I am proud to announce the return of the REEL SERVICE PROJECT – pairing original artwork from the industry’s best and brightest with our craftsmanship to deliver a series of truly one-of-a-kind pieces of gear.  Each of the pieces to be built will include a panel with original artwork – which will be “matted” with colors of fabric complimentary to the piece to further highlight the artist’s work.

As before – all efforts from our team and the team of artists, and all materials are donated so that 100% of the proceeds can directly benefit our vets through Project Healing Waters.

Though more detail will be shared in time as we draw closer to the July 4th program launch, I’m pleased to announce that the following artists have already signed up to donate their time and efforts for this year’s project:

DEREK DEYOUNG, JOSH UDESEN, ANDREA LARKO, JEFF KENNEDY, TY HALLOCK, ERIC HORNUNG, JAKE KEELER, SARAH LANDSTROM, JESSICA CALLIHAN, DANNY REED, RYAN KEENE, MATTHEW STOCKTON, ALEX POLAND, and JORGE MARTINEZ

Though it goes without saying, having personally had the opportunity to receive each artist’s commitment – I am truly humbled and inspired by how quickly and passionately each stepped up for the cause.  As before, VEDAVOO will lead the effort, and  provide the materials and labor to build the bags… and these artists will provide their time and vision – to paint their signature artwork to piece of fabric that will highlight each finished piece for the project.

This year’s event promises to be the BEST to date…But we need your help.  Please join our Campfire (HERE) for updates about the project.  We hope you’ll agree to be a part of this effort, and thank you in advance for your support of our veterans – and of Project Healing Waters.
