Mike brings three decades of professional fundraising experience and has served in leadership roles for the last 15. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in designing, building, and growing successful philanthropic programs for several well-known national institutions, including military and Veteran-service organizations. Most recently, Mike helped lead the expansion of Wounded Warrior Project’s major gifts program. Prior to that he held leadership positions at USA Lacrosse, MedStar Health, and the US Naval Academy Foundation.
A service mentality is deeply engrained in Mike’s family. His mother, grandfather, and other family members served in the military, and Mike gave back to his community at an early age as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. His personal and professional experiences give him a deep appreciation for, and understanding of, the sacrifices made by military members and their families, both during and following their service.
Mike is a Maryland native and grew up along the Susquehanna River and Chesapeake Bay where he learned first-hand the healing powers of the outdoors. Hiking, biking, golf, and fishing have long-served as tools to promote a healthy mind, body and community, and are activities he and his wife and two sons enjoy together.
