Combined Wisconsin PHWFF Fishing Outing to Lakeshore State Park
The first Midwest Wisconsin state outing took place on Saturday August 27, 2016 at Lakeshore State Park in Milwaukee, WI. It was hosted by program lead George Batcha brought together the PHWFF-Madison and PHWFF-Green Bay programs to enjoy the urban fishing experience.
Regional Coordinator Rich LoBianco recalls the day, “We fished the lagoon area and Lake Michigan from approximately 9:00 am to 2:30 pm for anything that swims (panfish, bass, carp, pike, trout, salmon, etc.). Those experienced participants that can safely climb/maneuver the breakwall rocks can fish Lake Michigan, but I expect that most of the participants will fish the lagoon area (grass banks, sand beach, or piers/docks).
Program Lead George Batcha obtained a Disabled Group Fishing Event License Waiver from the WI DNR so that veteran participants will not be required to have a fishing license when fishing with our PHWFF group within the time 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Our combined Wisconsin PHWFF fishing outing on Saturday at Lakeshore State Park was a success. Despite the weather, lack of cooperation from the fish, and the boaters/skiers in the lagoon area, I believe that the Participants had a good time (which is most important).
