As a Mentor, you’ll guide our Participants on their fly-fishing journey, offering encouragement and expertise every step of the way. Whether teaching the basics or instilling confidence on the water, Mentors play a pivotal role in helping Participants embrace the therapeutic benefits of this incredible sport while growing their skills and connection to nature.

  • Whether this is your first time mentoring or you’re continuing a legacy of service, this role allows you to make a meaningful impact while sharing your passion for fly fishing. Together, we can foster resilience, community, and purpose, one cast at a time.

We’re offering 4 identical orientation sessions to prepare for the upcoming season:

Session 1: March 1, 2025 | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Session 2: March 1, 2025 | 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Session 3: March 9, 2025 | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

As a TL or ATL, you’ll take on a leadership role in planning, coordinating, and executing PHW trips while ensuring that Participants receive the best possible experience. Whether managing logistics, supporting volunteers, or stepping in to resolve challenges on the water, your role will be crucial in making these trips a success.

  • If you’ve previously served as a TL or ATL, we still want you at the orientation! We’ll be covering new information and updated processes to make 2025 even more successful. Plus, your experience and insights are invaluable: your contributions will help strengthen the team and provide valuable guidance to those new to the role.

This orientation will be led by Dan Snelling and will prepare you with everything you need to be an effective TL or ATL in the upcoming season.

Are you ready to bring warmth, nourishment, and camaraderie to our fishing trips in 2025? Becoming a Cook for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing is about more than just preparing meals, it’s about creating a welcoming space where Participants and Volunteers can connect, recharge, and share stories over good food.

  • As a PHW Cook, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our trips run smoothly by providing well-planned, nutritious meals for our Participants and Volunteers. Whether you’re a seasoned camp chef or new to outdoor cooking, this role is a meaningful way to support the mission while making a lasting impact.

    If you’ve cooked for PHW trips in the past, we still want you at this orientation! We’ll be covering new meal-planning processes, safety considerations, and best practices to enhance the 2025 season. Plus, your experience is invaluable, your insights will help guide and support new cooks joining the team.

This orientation will be led by Dennis Johnson and will ensure you have everything you need to be a successful Cook for PHW in the upcoming season.
