c4e631f9-bce7-4aab-b627-b199d3651281The PHWFF Alaska Program took ten program participants on a trip to fish for rainbow trout and Dollie Varden on the Kenai River near Sterling, Alaska on September 25th.

It was an awesome day that started with a gorgeous sunrise on Skilak Lake as the guides glided the drift boats across a mile of the Lake to reach the Kenai River and the fishing action. All participants had the thrill of landing bows and Dollies plus a few spent Reds and Pinks (salmon). Four individuals waded the Russian River while the other nine floated in drift boats. It was a truly spectacular day! The photos below highlight some of the fun-filled action.Jan Schnorr coordinated this trip along with the help of Frank Stevens and Cindi Crawford. A special note of thanks goes out to businesses and guides who helped to sponsor and support the trip including Kenai River Drifter’s Lodge (Guides – Jerry, James, Jon and Nick) and the Sunrise Inn.
