765d3abe-0280-4bf9-921b-68d0043e20c1Dear Project Healing Waters Family,

Thanks to you, my three years as Chief Executive Officer have brought many accomplishments to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and the heroes we serve. These great efforts have enabled us to expand our Program, through its unique kind of therapy, to more veterans than ever before across our great nation. My years as CEO have also brought about some of my own greatest professional endeavors – many of which I personally shared with you – the addition of more than 50 Programs since 2013, the National Program Rendezvous, the establishment of Healing on the Fly, New York City, and the incredible experience of building and working with the talented HQ staff we have today. These moments and achievements we all share as Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing moves strongly into the next decade of Healing those who Serve.

As our organization continues forward with its mission, I too will be making an exciting leap ahead.  I’m so pleased to announce that I am engaged to be married, and will be moving to Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Alabama to join my fiancé Eric as we begin the next chapter of our lives.  Eric is an avid angler and a native of northern Alabama whom I have known for more than 24 years as a friend and acquaintance, and I am eager to begin my new life with him.  While I am thrilled about this, and the opportunity to be closer to my family, my direction also leaves me with many bittersweet emotions.  Since this move will take me away from PHWFF Headquarters in Maryland, it is with great sadness that I must announce my resignation as CEO to you, effective August 31, 2016.  I have been involved with Project Healing Waters as an organization since 2011 when I began volunteering with the Fort Belvoir Program.  It is during that time that I first joined veterans at a Rose River outing, became a part of Program activities, and later established the national Florida Flats Trip through the Quantico Program.  Through those early years and my time as CEO I have met some of the most incredible people I know, and I am happy that I will always call you friends.

I’m also excited that I will be near the Huntsville, AL Program so I may assist in sharing our unique form of therapy in my new (old) home of Alabama.  I began my involvement with PHWFF as a volunteer and patron, and my time as CEO has only strengthened my deeply held belief in the healing powers of our unique form of therapy – that of the fly rod, reel, and vise.  I want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions to PHWFF.  Your support has allowed me to lead this organization to serve more than 7400 injured and disabled veterans last year alone, and I am thrilled to have been a part of it.  Although I will no longer lead this incredible organization, the inspirational veterans, volunteers, and patrons with whom I have worked have embedded in me an appreciation for, and desire to continue working in support of our noble cause.   I hope we all stay in touch as fellow members of the PHWFF family.  It has been an honor to work with you in fulfillment of the Project Healing Waters mission.

Thank you,
