Beginning May 11, Project Healing Waters will host a special online auction featuring the personal fly fishing collection of Bob Popovics, generously donated by his family. This is more than a collection of gear. It is a legacy, carefully assembled over a lifetime of passion for the water, now offered in service of the same healing it once gave its owner.

Bob Popovics was a Marine Corps Veteran who discovered fly tying after returning home. What began as a way to fill quiet hours became something much deeper — a discipline that brought him peace, direction, and a renewed sense of purpose. For Bob, the water wasn’t just a place to fish. It was a place to breathe again.

The auction includes engraved saltwater reels, some of his personally tied flies, and pieces of gear that carry the unmistakable mark of a craftsman who loved what he did. Each item is a small window into the way Bob moved through the world: with patience, intention, and care.

Every bid placed supports Project Healing Waters and the Veterans who come to the program searching for something similar to what Bob found — connection, purpose, and a path forward. His legacy continues not just in the objects themselves, but in every Veteran who picks up a rod and begins to find their footing again.

The auction runs May 11–16.  Whether you’re an avid angler, a collector, or simply someone who believes in this mission, we hope you’ll consider getting involved.
