(La Plata, MD) – Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF) is honored to announce their new Chair of its Board of Trustees, Ken Asbury. Mr. Asbury is a 2015 recipient of the organization’s highest honor – The Patriot Award. He also served as an advisor on its Founder’s Circle. A long-time supporter of the Cause – Ken is also a member of its Century Club. Mr. Asbury began his new role on August 29, 2020 during the organization’s recent virtual meeting of its Board of Trustees.
“It’s a great honor to be part of an organization that plays such an important role in ensuring the health and well-being of our Nation’s disabled veterans and disabled active duty military personnel,” said Asbury, who is the former President & CEO of CACI International Inc. “My journey with Project Healing Waters over the past decade has been truly inspiring. I look forward to this new chapter as we continue to heal those who serve.”
Ken Asbury epitomizes all the elements that define an exceptional leader and PHWFF supporter. His long-term dedication and commitment to the organization achieved many enduring positive impacts on the organization’s volunteers and participants.
“We’re really excited that Ken wanted to join us as our Board Chair. Ken is a great friend to our organization, and we know him well. He brings with him tremendous business experience, wisdom, leadership, strategic vision – and most importantly – a genuine concern for our nation’s veterans combined with a personal commitment to our Cause!”

This passion carries over in his past leadership duties for CACI International, Inc., where he was a champion of hiring veterans and veterans with disabilities – recognizing their talent, character, and dedication to deliver quality support to the workforce.
During his tenure at CACI, Arctic Slope Federal Holding Company and a long career at Lockheed Martin, Mr. Asbury made business development and program delivery his top priorities, resulting in consistently strong contract awards and a vigorous focus on strategic campaigns to capture large and complex projects.
Mr. Asbury served in the U.S. Army Security Agency as a translator/interpreter. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. His wife Tracy and daughter Delaney are avid fly fishing advocates as well.
