The PHW Spotlight is our way of shining a bright light on those members of our PHW family whose accomplishments and contributions inspire us all.
These individuals, and their stories, are an essential part of the healing journey happening for Veterans across the country. Project Healing Waters transcends fly fishing and these Spotlights are a glimpse into what is happening throughout our programs. We are honored to share these with you each week.
2005-2009
Rapid City, SD
2021 to present.
I joined Project Healing Waters to share my passion for fishing with other Veterans. My wife and I moved to Rapid City, South Dakota from Athens, Ohio in July of 2021 and I became interested in learning to fly fish. I have been fishing for as long as I can remember, starting with my grandfather teaching me, and then moving on to my own fishing adventures. However, in all my days prior, I had not picked up a fly rod. Learning to fly fish has reshaped my love of fishing, greatly enhancing the experience. I appreciate what Project Healing Waters does for me and anticipate many wonderful fly fishing experiences.
Fishing! Fly tying is also very enjoyable, but most importantly, it is a true honor to share each of these experiences with my fellow Veterans.
I look forward to meeting new Veterans and growing our number of participants in the Rapid City Program.
