The 2nd Annual Smallmouth on the Roanoke event took place on Saturday, September 10, 2017. The event came about through long-time PHWFF volunteer and alum, Josh Williams of Dead Drift Outfitters and the great folks at AECOM. The event, hosted by the PHWFF Roanoke, Virginia program paired 12 veterans participants with guides for a day of angling for smallmouth bass on the Roanoke River. The event was a fun and restorative day fishing and simultaneously showcased the tremendous community support for veterans in the Roanoke area.
In addition to the great angling and fellowship, The 2nd Annual Smallmouth on the Roanoke raised over $5,000 to support the continued growth and service of the PHWFF Roanoke, VA Program to those veterans and active duty military in the community who could benefit from our unique brand of healing.
