Where The Fish Are

NEWS & STORIES

18fcbfb2-b478-4992-b486-45f25785972cThe final days of March 2016 brought 9 injured and disabled veteran participants, volunteers, and support staff to Broken Bow — the Lower Mountain Fork river in Southeastern Oklahoma – for 3 days of fishing, fly tying, and bonding.

“Many fish where caught, flies tied and food eaten.. More importantly there was much healing that took place.. The most important part of the outings was the way the Vets bonded and the way trust was built within the group.. I would like to thank all  our volunteers, especially Eddie and Roberta Brister who lost their fly shop due to a tragic flood less than 4 months ago and yet still put our needs before theirs.. I’d also like to thank Linda King who despite family medical issues and a complete change in career choices, was prominent in the logistical support for our outing” – Lew Duckwall, Program Lead North Texas PHWFF.
