Remembering Larry Allen Drake (1942 – 2016)
Larry Drake was active in Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Reel Recovery and Casting for Recovery, served as a director for the South Eastern Council of the IFFF for many years and loved to fly-fish for anything in the water. “Larry Drake’s dedication to helping disabled veterans recover physically and emotionally through his work with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing will not be forgotten and is a perfect example of selfless service.” – COO David Folkerts, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc.
Larry Allen Drake, 74, passed away Thursday October 20, 2016. Larry proudly served his country in the Air Force for four years then went on to retire from the Army Reserves after 30 years. He was a faithful member of Parkland Baptist Church and volunteered as 
Program Lead with the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Fort Knox/Louisville Program. Larry was also a member of the N.R.A. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Drake. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Anna “Midge” Drake, son Jonathan Drake (Krista), grand-daughters Caroline and Charlotte Drake and siblings Kay Williams (David), Lewis Meyers, Mike Meyers, Joey Meyers and Karen Lawson (Jim).

If you all only knew how hard he had to work to get into the Louisville VA to allow us to have classes. It’s a sad day for the Louisville program to lose a great person like Larry.
