By Sara Pate, PHW Anchorage

The Anchorage Alaska Program sent thirty participants and volunteers on five different overnight trips on Alaska’s beautiful Kenai River.  These overnight events are a highlight of the year for our participants, providing the mental peace that comes with being outdoors and the camaraderie from spending time together.

The evening time was enjoyed by all whether it was dining under a tarp in the rain, sitting around the bonfire, or having a luxurious meal provided by a host.

These trips could not have been possible without the support of our sponsors:  Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, Drifters Lodge, Kenai River Cowboys, Alaska Fishing and Lodging, Bob McDonald Fly Fishing, Hutch Hutchinson, Spruce Haven Lodge, and Bing Brown’s.
