PHWFF NYC Program volunteer Yoel Kim shares the highlights of an exciting outing the program took to the famed waters off Montauk, NY
Montauk and its surrounding waters are known to be the home of some of the greatest sport fishing on the East Coast. It is known for a multitude of different saltwater species that can be targeted on the fly.
Our trip was planned for the end of July and consisted of 3 NYC veterans who showed up for a beautiful day of fishing. Guides David Blinken and Merritt White have been providing professional and world class guiding for over 20 years on these waters.
Our morning started off with expert casting lessons from our guides while on the water as our veterans learned how to deal with the wind and heavier gear than they were used to. And by the end of the day each veteran had hooked, played, and reeled in multiple hard fighting bluefish.
Congratulations to Herbert, Stephanie and Jenaro on their first-ever bluefish!
Huge thank you to our guides and captains, David and Merritt, without whom this day would not have been possible. They provided excellent instruction, expertly navigated the waters, and made sure that everybody was safe, comfortable, and having fun.
