Our Favorite Videos of 2015
Each year we are amazed at the number of fantastic videos that capture the work being done by PHWFF programs and volunteers nationwide. Here are a few of our favorites from the past year.

“Teach a Man to Fish” A short film by The University of Tennessee’s Medal of Honor Project was filmed this past October at the inaugural Smoky Mountain Grand Slam Challenge in Norris, TN. Through beautiful footage, this film shares the journey of recovery and the bonds of fellowship borne from our unique kind of therapy.

The VooDoo Daddy: “Chris Thompson Tarpon” In this action packed short short video, Capt. Rob Fordyce is joined by Chris Thompson, USMC (ret), and Rick Pope of Temple Fork Outfitters on the water in search of tarpon. Chris Thompson is a retired USMC Sniper and a huge volunteer and supporter of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. He has been actively involved with our programs for years, contributing his time and talents to numerous programs — from Quantico to Camp Lejeune. His passion for our cause, and his fellow veterans, led Chris to organize the annual fly tying marathon at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in which thousands of flies are tied by volunteers for use by all of our 181 Programs nationwide. We hope you enjoy this fantastic video of Chris pursuing, hooking, and landing his first ever fly-caught tarpon.

“While I’m Here : The Legacy Project” with PHWFF Founder Ed Nicholson The third installment of The Legacy Project films highlights our Founder and President Ed Nicholson. The film is about using nature to heal wounds – both mentally and physically – and how one person can start something and that something can become so much bigger than just them.

The 8th Annual Mossy Creek Invitational The Mossy Creek Invitational (MCI) has been held in Bridgewater, VA since 2007 and on Saturday June 6, 2015 over $215,000 was raised in support of our programs and the injured and disabled veterans they serve. Graciously hosted by Robin & Bob Fitch, the Mossy Creek Invitational is one of our premier fundraising events. It also serves as a fun fly fishing competition that pairs a PHWFF veteran participant with a sponsor and professional fly fishing guide for a day of memorable and restorative angling on Virginia’s famed Mossy Creek.
