Patriot Award Presented to the Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting
On Tuesday May 1, 2018 President and CEO Todd Desgrosseilliers presented the Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing’s highest and most prestigious award, The Patriot Award. It is bestowed upon individuals or organizations that have demonstrated, over time, continuous and extraordinary service to PHWFF as an organization, and to those whom the organization serves.
The Board of Trustees of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) takes great pleasure in presenting the Patriot Award to the Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting, for their exceptional support and dedication to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing since 2012.
Through their commitment to the PHWFF mission, vision, and core values, the Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting elevated Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing’s impact across the Rocky Mountain Northeast Region. As true patriots, the company’s leadership recognized the positive impact that Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Programs provide to all disabled veterans. They selflessly donated their fly fishing services, their personal time, and their community influence to enable Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. to serve additional participants and to provide the resources to support them – thereby helping to create a community where our nation’s disabled veterans can heal.
The Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting began supporting the Project Healing Waters’ Casper Program and the Project Healing Waters’ Rocky Mountain Northeast Region in 2012. From 2012 to 2017, they provided the Project Healing Water’s Casper Program with over $20,000.00 worth of In-Kind donations and support. Additionally, during this same period they guided numerous participants in more than 50 one and two-day float fly fishing trips on the Big Horn River and the North Platte River. This impressive volunteer culture represents thousands of hours dedicated to supporting our nation’s disabled veterans.
The Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting serves as an exemplar to a culture of giving back to our nation’s servicemen and servicewomen. Remarkably, the clear majority of their 20 employees generously donated their personal time to lead fly rod casting instruction, fly tying sessions, and fly fishing education classes for the programs disabled veteran participants. Their combined effort ensures that the Project Healing Waters’ Casper Program events and outings represent a complete community effort to support our noble cause.
The Board of Trustees of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is proud to bestow on Ugly Bug Fly Shop/Crazy Rainbow Fly Fishing and Wing Shooting the Patriot Award for their tireless and extraordinary service to our organization and to those wounded, ill, and injured servicemen and servicewomen and disabled veterans whom this organization serves.
