On Saturday, September 30, seven Pittsburgh area veterans headed to Yellow Creek in Bedford, PA for a day of fly fishing instruction and some great fishing.  The veterans began the day with instruction from local guides and fly-fishing instructors. Topics included: casting, safe wading techniques, properly releasing fish, mending, and reading water.

The veterans enjoyed a delicious lunch, provided courtesy of Dana Troutman of Kountry Kettle. In the afternoon, each veteran was partnered with a river helper, who assisted with fly selection and
presentation techniques. Every veteran caught a trout and really enjoyed the sunny Fall day.

Special thanks to Carol Sherlock for hosting the event, and to Charlie and Cynthia Whitman from the Yellow Creek Coalition.
