Project Healing Waters Anchorage helps to staff JBER Safety Fair on May 25th

Prior to the start of summer, Joint Base Elmendorf Fort Richardson sponsors an annual Safety Fair and PHWFF Anchorage was invited to host a fishing safety session. Volunteers taught “how to fish for red salmon”, which included tying knots, casting using the “chuck and duck” method, safety measures including protective eyewear, hats, and wading belts, and removing embedded hooks. This was a first exposure to the Alaska fishing experience for more than half of the participants. Fish ON!!!
