On September 23rd, 2021, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc.’s (PHWFF) annual fundraising event, the Southern Maryland Slam, was held virtually to ensure everyone’s safety during the ongoing pandemic. Although the event was virtual, it was a fun evening full of empowering stories from our own participants and even some musical entertainment.

Brian Wilson, a member of the PHWFF Board of Trustees, was our emcee. We held an online auction before and during the event which had some amazing items and experiences for our supporters. We raised $47,143 from this event for our organization and to support our participants across the country. We could not have raised that amazing amount without supporters!

Our sponsors for the event included:

The Haller Foundation – Gold

Dominion Energy – Silver

FGS – Bronze

JES Avanti Foundation – Bronze

Community Bank of the Chesapeake – Program

We truly appreciate everyone’s support for our disabled active military service personnel and our disabled veterans across the country as they continue their healing journeys. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s event. Who knows – maybe we can celebrate together in person!
