âFly fishing provides disabled veterans in our Programs the opportunity to adjust to their new abilities in a fun, practiced way while diffusing their problems and frustrations through a connection to nature and their community, said Ellen Killough, CEO of PHWFF. âThe hands-on, educational opportunities offered through the partnership with DVNF will enable these veterans to further their own journeys of recovery.â
Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, âWeâre pleased to be able to partner with Project Healing Waters because it is making such an impact on veterans in such an innovative way. Activities like fishing can truly forge a path to helping veterans heal in mind and body, and weâre glad to be a part of that.â
