SUNY ESF Trout Bums join the veterans of PHWFF Syracuse for fly tying class

A great day was had at Syracuse, NY Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Friday, February 17, 2017.  The Syracuse, NY Program gathered for their weekly fly tying class in the first floor auditorium to learn, and tie, the Slump Bug and the Squirrel and Herl Bugger patterns — both highly effective streamer patterns for the local waterways.      Amongst the 15 volunteers and veteran participants present were members of the  SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry’s Trout Bum Club – a great club we’re excited to be working with!   The group is looking forward to putting these two new patterns to use in the upcoming months (trout season is drawing close!).

The Syracuse, NY Program will meet next at Clear Path for Veterans in Chittenango, NY on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 9am.
