cin2Program volunteer Brent Miller writes: For the fourth year, the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing programs from Cincinnati and Indianapolis met in the middle for a fishing event and lunch at the Brookville Tailwaters, Southeastern Indiana’s only trout waters.

Hosted this year, by PHWFF-Cincinnati, the outing included not only PHWFF Indianapolis, but also representatives from Central Indiana Trout Unlimited, Indiana, DNR, and staff from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Commander Christopher Beck, Louisville District, USACE, attended with his wife.

Everything was cooperating—the weather, good food, great camaraderie of veterans and volunteers—except the fish.  Several hits were reported but only one fish was caught—a small largemouth bass. And, that’s the way it goes sometimes. But still, it’s hard to beat the camaraderie of Project Healing Waters, and seeing old friends from afar.
