PHWFF’s San Francisco Program held its first class for disabled vets on January 25th at the Anglers Lodge by the casting pools in Golden Gate Park.  Eighteen volunteers from the Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club welcomed 9 enthusiastic vets affiliated with the nearby San Francisco VA Medical Center for a 3-hour introduction to fly fishing in general and fly casting in particular.  Classes are scheduled for mid-day every other Wednesday and will expand soon to include ~16 vets.  Winter/early-spring classes will focus on fly casting and fly tying, with numerous outings on the drawing boards to begin in late March/early April.
