Below, PHWFF Coatesville, PA Program volunteer Matt Seymour shares another fantastic update from this great program in our Pennsylvania Region

One of the sure signs of spring is the ramp-up of fly tying activity at CVAMC. We had 15 vets (with 8 new participants!) and 13 volunteers for a full house. All on board were cranking out flies in anticipation of our first fishing outing on April 24 at Paradise Farm Camps in Downingtown.
Since we prefer to have one-on-one interactions with our vet fly-fishers we’re generally in need of a few extra volunteers to teach our vets to fly fish. If you think you may help us that evening give Ken Van Gilder or Chris Ricciuti a call. We particularly appreciate the assistance or colleagues from Vally Forge Trout Unlimited and The Dame Juliana League have given us in the past!
Last Wednesday Evening
The patterns being tied included Woolly Buggers and Zebra Midges. I was amazed at how deftly the guys sitting around Zack Taylor and me were tying those little midges. They begged us to do something a little larger next week!
Why are theses vets around Gene usually laughing?
Is this they way you look when you thread a bobbin?
Okay, Karen, now that you have the Buggers down ,what’s next?

Two piano legs wandered in ….
Chris teaching Lenno the whip finish … he got it!
Special Thanks
We asked for fly boxes last week. Between Gene GlavinJim Clark and John Dettrey we got 12 boxes! The vets were thrilled. (We usually put the flies tied at our sessions in pill bottles – for which there seems to be no shortage at a Medical Center! Thanks, guys.
Fly boxes are always on the hot list for donation requests. For those of you who have  fly boxes we can share, drop them off to any of our volunteers or to Orvis Plymouth Meeting with my name on them.
