Program Lead John Propster of our Oswego, NY program checks-in with an update from this great program in our Northern New York Region below.

On July 22nd, 2019, Al Daher, of Mickey’s Bait and Tackle in North Syracuse, spent an evening with our Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Oswego, NY Program. Al, co-owner of Mickey’s Bait and Tackle, demonstrated his trout fingerling streamer flies. The tips, tricks, and techniques he shared helped us all create dozens of great looking flies. All materials, and his expert instruction, were provided gratis, a testament to his years of support to Project Healing Waters programs in the Central NY Region. Our local participants, as well as participants from our sister programs in Syracuse and Ft. Drum, all walked away with some “fishy” flies, new skills, and long-lasting memories from a local angling legend!
