September 22, 2018 Auburn – Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc programs will be hosting simultaneous daylong events on Saturday, September 29, 2018 to raise funds and awareness of their cause and the injured and disabled veterans they serve.

Come join the fun. Bring family and friends. You can learn how to tie your fly to take home, We show you how. Watch fly casting by the experts; with some help you can try your hand at fly casting.  There will be raffles on donated items including a framed portrait donated by local artist Dave Footer.  DAG’S BAIT & TACKLE will donate 20% of the day’s sales to PROJECT HEALING WATERS FLY FISHING to benefit programs designated and delivered to some of our many Disabled Veterans struggling to heal from disabilities incurred in service to our country.

The event will run from 9:00 AM til 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at DAG’S BAIT & TACKLE, 559 Minot Avenue, Auburn, Maine.

Healing Saturday,” will take place at local fly shops and retailers across the country in cooperation with the local volunteer-run Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Inc. (PHWFF) programs.  Through offering special opportunities like entertainment, food, and all-things fly fishing Healing Saturday will aid in supporting disabled veterans on their healing journey.

PHWFF is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans.  PHWFF is unique in that volunteers teach classes on an on-going, long term basis. Program activities include fly fishing instruction, fly tying classes, fly casting workshops, rod building and fly fishing outings. In 2017, PHWFF Programs served over 8,400 disabled veterans at over 200+ locations nationwide.
