Healing Saturday strives to raise awareness of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, a national nonprofit serving disabled veterans in local communities across the United States

Allen, TX August 26, 2019 – The Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc program in Dallas, TX will be holding a special event on Saturday, September 28, 2019 to raise funds and awareness of their cause and the injured and disabled veterans they serve.  

We are pleased to announce that thanks to a local partnership with the Cabela’s store, the event will take place from 10:00 am – 4:pm at 1 Cabela Dr.  Allen, TX 75002.  

This Healing Saturday event will provide entertainment, and special educational opportunities about all-things fly fishing to aid in supporting disabled veterans on their journey to recovery.

This includes Jere Anderson discussing the Texas Fresh Water Fisheries Center and Hatchery in Athens, TX and how important their role is for the state of Texas. Jim Woodman will discuss Entomology and how insects play such an important role in fly fishing.  Rex Walker will be providing fly casting demonstrations, and Johnny Walker will discuss adaptive fly fishing equipment that can be used by anyone with disabilities. Several of our volunteers and participants will be providing fly tying demonstrations.
