“Rush River Rendezvous”
Minneapolis, MN Program Lead Rob Noirjean recounts a great outing held on June 2, 2017 outside of the Twin Cities:
We had 20 participants from three VA locations and 20 volunteers, (plus volunteers from the local Sportsman club who served us lunch) and a private location on the river to fish. This area provided wheel chair access to prime run in the river where trout were caught, along with other areas. The volunteers from the sportsman club also provided ATV transportation so that we could get some participants to remote areas of the river.
This was a unique opportunity for participants to experience fly fishing on a pristine trout stream and they loved it. (previously some fished on city lakes only).
Since this was so successful we plan to repeat this event annually.
