At Project Healing Waters, we believe that every day is Veterans Day. And every day, it’s a privilege to show our appreciation to our Veterans for their service and sacrifice.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, in his 1960 Proclamation, declared that “the men and women who have served in our armed forces have contributed immeasurably to the preservation of America’s freedom and to the advancement of the goal of world peace” and that “the Nation is eternally grateful to our veterans for these contributions…”

That gratitude is most often expressed with the well-meaning “thank you for your service.” On this Veterans Day, I’d encourage you to take that a step further. Take the time to learn about the service of the ones you thank. Not everyone who served, served in combat. Not everyone deployed. But they all raised their right hand in the same way for the same purpose, and all who served honorably made a commitment that few others have. You should hear their stories.

At Project Healing Waters, we believe that every day is Veterans Day. And every day, it’s a privilege to show our appreciation to our Veterans for their service and sacrifice.

Another way you can say “thank you” is to get involved in a cause or organization that supports Veterans.  At Project Healing Waters, our mission is to bring Veterans together, share stories, mentor and teach, and provide experiences that build resilience, promote wellness and support each of them along their journey of healing.

On behalf of the staff, volunteers and our amazing participants – Happy Veterans Day from Project Healing Waters, and thank you all for your service.
