On Wednesday October 28, 2020 Fly Fishers International FFI) presented Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) with their Fly Fishing Skills Education Award in a virtual ceremony held online. The FFI Fly Fishing Skills Education Award is an FFI annual award is based upon a single extraordinary contribution or on a continuous prominent effort promoting comprehensive fly fishing education. Todd Desgrosseilliers, President and CEO of PHWFF, accepted the award on the organization’s behalf.

During the more than four years that I have served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, I’ve been blessed with hundreds of opportunities to work hand-in-hand with FFI’s leaders, its members, and its volunteers from all levels of the organization at a wide variety of events and activities across the United States. You have all enriched our lives in so many ways.

During the evening, Fly Fishers International also recognized all the recipients of the 2020 FFI awards. These prestigious awards recognize and reward those individuals and organizations that have advanced the sport of fly fishing, including notable achievement in fly tying, casting, fly fishing skills, and conservation. In addition, the Fly Fishers International Awards Program reflects the spirit of FFI’s mission to actively preserve the legacy of fly fishing for all fish, all waters through the focus areas of conservation, education, and community.

Fly Fishers International has been a steadfast champion and strategic partner of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing since the organizations inception in 2005. Through this special partnership, thousands of our Nation’s disabled veterans have benefitted from the restorative and therapeutic benefits of fly fishing and its associated activities.

“Although our missions contain different words our causes remain forever connected in principle and action.”
