PHWFF Helps with Fall Kenai River Clean Up

Three PHWFF participants and one volunteer headed to the Alaska Fly Fishers (AFF) sponsored Kenai River Cleanup event 7-9 Sept 2018. On Saturday morning we deployed out cleaning up about 3 miles along the Sterling Highway which borders the river gathering everything from trash to car parts that were left along the highway. Hundreds of pounds of trash were cleaned up along the highway and river itself by the volunteers and a great time was had by all.

On Sunday morning we were hosted by Travis at Fish Em’ for a day of fishing on the middle Kenai River.

Many, many fish were caught including Rainbows, Dollies, whitefish, and a lot of pinks which were all released making for a great finish to our trip.
