The Parkersburg, WV program of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF) recently received a $10,000 grant from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation & Regional Affiliates. The grant was received to provide therapeutic activities, including equipment and overnight outings, to our participants.
“We were excited, honored, and humbled to receive a grant of this size from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation,” said Sarah Holt, Program Lead, Parkersburg program. “Due to the pandemic, we haven’t taken an overnight outing with our participants for a couple of years. We are excited to take a couple of overnight outings with our participants this year, and we can do so thanks to this generous grant.”
The program plans to do an overnight outing in the spring and fall. Any unused grant funding will then be put towards purchasing additional materials and equipment as the program has continued to grow.
