On August 26, 2017, PHWFF veteran participants, supporters and volunteers will come together on the beautiful waters of the Au Sable River at Gates Ausable Lodge for the inaugural Holy Waters Tournament, an event that is instrumental in the continued success of PHWFF programs in the Midwest and across the country.

holy-waters-logo-v2-croppedThe Au Sable River is considered one of the best brown trout fisheries east of the Rockies and has been designated a blue ribbon trout stream by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.  Veteran participants and volunteers, thanks to generosity of the tournament host, Gates Ausable Lodge (a premier fishing lodge located in Northern Michigan near Grayling, MI that features a full service fly shop, lodge and restaurant) will have the privilege of fishing the “Holy Waters” section of the river during the tournament on August 26, 2017.  It is a section steeped in history that offers not only phenomenal trout fishing, but an opportunity to soak in the beautiful surroundings and aid in providing the veteran competitors with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  Following the tournament, a very special fundraising banquet will be held at Gates Lodge on Saturday evening, August 26th, to provide the thousands of veterans served by PHWFF annually with the support they need on their journeys to recovery.
