Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc (PHWFF) is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of veteran’s and active military personnel with disabilities through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outdoor experiences.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc began in 2005 serving wounded military service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Since then, PHWFF has expanded nationwide, establishing its highly successful program in Department of Defense hospitals, Warrior Transition Units, and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and clinics.
In 2016 the Jersey Shore Chapter was created, providing greater opportunity for veterans in the Monmouth and Ocean Counties of New Jersey to participate.
PHWFF provides basic fly fishing, fly casting, fly tying and rod building classes, along with clinics for participants ranging from beginners who have never fly fished before, to those with prior experience and are looking to adapt their skills to their new abilities.
The Jersey Shore is a great environment for fly fishing as it provides a vast array of environments and species to target, stretching from freshwater lakes and rivers for trout and bass, to saltwater bays and surfs for Striped Bass and other saltwater species.
Regular meetings are held the first Sunday of every month, and we often participate in special events throughout the month, giving ample opportunities to get on the water.
