Mossy Creek Invitational
Phil Johnson Exceptional Leadership Award

Veterans, volunteers, and supporters will gather in Bridgewater, Virginia on June 3, 2017 for the 10th Annual Mossy Creek Invitational benefiting Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc (PHWFF) and the thousands of disabled veterans the organization serves each year.  The Mossy Creek Invitational serves as a fun fly fishing competition in which PHWFF veteran participants are paired with a sponsor and professional fly fishing guide for a day of memorable angling on Virginia’s famed Mossy Creek.  For over a decade we have focused on healing those who serve and the Mossy Creek Invitational will serve to raise funds to provide disabled veterans with the support they need on their journeys to recovery as we continue into our second decade of service.

This year will be a special celebration of 10 years as a premier fundraiser and fishing tournament for PHWFF.  It is graciously hosted each year by Robin and Bob Fitch and has long been embraced by the Bridgewater, VA community, local businesses and national sponsors.  For ten years, The Mossy Creek Invitational has provided a great day for great Americans while simultaneously raising vital support for our programs and raised awareness for their contributions towards the recovery and rehabilitation of those who have made great sacrifices in the service of our nation.

We’re looking forward to another great year on Mossy Creek!  We’ll be highlighting special moments throughout the day on June 3, 2017 at @PHWFF on Twitter and Instagram, so stay tuned!

2015 MCI high five

It is through the tremendous support of ten-year sponsors BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, O’Neill’s Grille, Mossy Creek Fly Fishing, and the Town of Bridgewater; Long-time supporters like the Military Intelligence Corps Association (MICA) and the Littleover Group LLC (Tony and Jan Spacey);  and perennial sponsors like Golden Corral, Leidos, Microsoft, and the USO that we were able to provide our unique brand of healing to over 7,500 deserving members of our armed services in 2016 alone.

The business community of Bridgewater, Virginia has long embraced our cause through this special annual event.  It is through community and mutual support that many of our veteran participants find their healing path.  Special thanks are due to local sponsors Steven Toyota, Momentum Earthworks, Harrisonburg Honda, Bob Wade Subaru, and Sustainable Solutions; and the friends of the Mossy Creek Invitational: Engineering Solutions, Jack Browns Restaurant, LD&B Insurance and Financial Services, and Neveplast.  We thank you for continuously championing our cause and embracing the veterans we serve in your great, patriotic community.
