On July 14, the San Francisco Program of PHWFF celebrated their first outing since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold.
Eight participants and four volunteers headed out to the Vadasz Vineyards in Sonoma, California to fish a stocked pond courtesy of Les and Judy Vadasz.
Henry Little, the Program Lead, said that the highlight was just getting back out together and luxuriating in such a beautiful setting with wonderful folks. The numerous bass they caught didn’t hurt, either.
Little would like to thank hosts Les and Judy Vadasz, Estate Manager Brandon Wells, and PHWFF Advocate Stephen Kyle for the help with this outing. Little noted that there are more outings planned to other Sonoma vineyards in the months ahead.
As of June 10, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. extended their outdoor activities for all programs nationwide. Since then, programs as far east as Maryland have gathered to catch-up and catch fish. Some Montana veterans even caught their personal bests on the Yellowstone River. The Midwest wasn’t left behind, either with programs such as Willoughby, OH and Omaha, NE getting back together.
